大家好，欢迎大家! My name is 喀拉海 Gately and I am a local to Plumas County, as I grew up here in Quincy. I, 我自己, am a graduate of Feather River College  and ultimately continued on to get my Master of 社会工作 degree. I am grateful for the opportunity to come back to Feather River College and be a part of the advocacy for accessible mental health care.

My experience has included working in foster care, 修正, 学校系统, 住院精神健康机构, and providing mental health and addiction 治疗 to legally involved folks. While my work experience has been quite diverse, the common theme is that none of us are immune 到 human condition. Each of us struggle with doubts, insecurities, shame, relationships, and often, our mental health. My goal in being a part of our campus mental health services is to advocate, 支持, 让我们的每一个学生都有能力. Whatever walk of life you are coming from, you are welcome here.

My approach as a mental health provider is very much informed by the fact that I am a social worker. Social work ethics encourage recognition of each individual and their unique set of strengths as they address their concerns. While I can absolutely provide education around mental health and symptoms being experienced, 我把你作为一个整体来看待. The role that you play in your own life is important and I am eager to learn your perspective on how we can collaborate to meet your goals. I encourage autonomy and the recognition that you are your own person. Flexibility in our thinking and our ability to cope with what we are experiencing is central to our mental health and a large part of how I approach mental health 治疗. 就像任何关系一样, trust is central to building a positive therapeutic relationship, 这也需要时间. When I am not here on campus, I am often adventuring around Plumas County with my pittie pup, Luna. I love being outside; whether it be hiking, 桨登机, 或滑雪, Plumas County is one of my favorite places to roam. I also enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones. Mental health is a topic near to my heart as it impacts each of us. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you 到 健康中心.
